Aut inveniam viam aut faciam

Personal Development

When I first started studying for the CCIE, I was daunted by the sheer amount of material that I would have to learn. Commiting 16 – 20 hours a week to self study became a challenge. I felt that I had picked up too many bad habits over the years. I was allowing to many distractions and excuses to interfer to studying.

I started to spend time reading books on both personal and professional development. I used a mind mapping program called FreeMind (freemind.sourceforge.net) to take notes. A list of activities from the Wikipedia article on Personal Development became the starting point of the mind map. Sources of information in the mind map include books I bought, books available on Safari Books Online, books on Kindle, and articles found on the Internet.

The mind map is a living document. It’s incomplete and continually changing and being updated.
